Pakistani girls have emerged as winners in the Global Techathon 2025.

Mahroosh Umer and Maryam Farhan are two extraordinarily bright daughters of Pakistan who pushed their nation to etch another feather in its cap by winning the International Women’s Day Global Techathon 2025. The team Futuristan came up with an AI-based solution that helps women deal with emotional problems associated with menopause and facilitates a better everyday partner with the right kind of emotional support.

The competition was global with around 2000 teenagers participating from 150 locations across the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Americas. Of this, 55% were girls-the growing trend for young women participating in technology fields such as AI, data science, and design thinking.

These Techathons running under their program- Teens in AI started in February and finished with a Global Demo Day on April 24, 2025-featuring teens aged 12 to 18 teaming up to find AI-based solutions for real-life problems.

Mahroosh and Maryam have outshone the global finalists under the mentorship of Noorulain Zafer, founder of Mind Works International, bringing home the first-ever prize for Pakistan at this international level.
