During the official visit of the Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Pakistan, and Belarus have inked fifteen important MoUs and agreements for further enhancing bilateral relations on the occasion of the 30th birth anniversary of both friendly countries. Both PM Shehbaz Sharif and President Lukashenko underlined the need to develop bilateral relations with a focus on political diplomacy and economic relations as well as the formation of multiple spheres of cooperation. The multilateral initiative is designed to further enhance their all-embracing cooperation in trade and technology, as well as mutual economic cooperation.
Strategic Economic Cooperation and Industrial Relations
Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to start the implementation of investment projects in agriculture and industrial fields, especially in the production of high-tech machinery in an agricultural field. They are aware of the prospects of joint production, sales and services industry in automobile through partnership between the government and other private players. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) recently held a Belarus-Pakistan Business Forum where more than a Belarusian company and almost a hundred Pakistani companies interacted.
Recent Strategies for Strengthening Cooperation in the Fields of Science, Education, and Culture
Both countries have finalized the intention to enhance scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation. Among their objectives are intents to create cooperation on scientific research, exchange students, and stimulate the carrying out of research activities between universities. The “Roadmap of Intensive Cooperation” for 2025-2027 was signed to extend the cooperation in the higher level and intergovernmental commissions based on the principles of friendly-neighborly relations and strategic partnership.
