Pakistan and Zimbabwean cricket teams wore orange caps during the first one-day international match at Queens Sports Club to support the fight against childhood cancer. The event intended to raise funds for children with cancer was warmly welcomed by fans of cricket as well as the teams. Pakistan chose to field first after winning the toss and started a phenomenal day both in form and spirit.
The orange colored caps that both teams wore hope and awareness for children with cancer. This was applauded as a positive indication of realizing support for children affected by cancer globally. Cricket fans appreciated the gesture while arguing that cricket can change the world for the better.
The move attracted much attention because the players themselves engaged in the campaign during the first match of the series. Such action enriched the competitive atmosphere demonstrated in Bulawayo, and touched the heart of innumerable spectators worldwide.
Pakhearts’s bowlers responded well after they won the toss and bundled Zimbabwe at 124/6 in 24.2 overs. Haris Rauf and Aamer Jamal took early wickets and bowled Zimbabwe’s top players out in clean and swift manners.
The fast bowling of Mohammad Hasnain, Salman Agha, and Faisal Akram did not let Zimbabwe’s middle order settle. Zimbabwe’s lower order provided a fight but Pakistan’s accurate bowling never allowed the home side to settle.
