The new hybrid variants of Kia Sportage, Sorento and Hyundai Elantra are expected to bring a perfect fusion of elegance and technology to the PAPS 2024.

MG Pakistan has also decided to expand its HS range by adding a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. As usual, we have provided all the necessary details about these upcoming vehicles.

Changan Pakistan has also recently joined the league. The company has released a teaser image of its mini electric vehicle, ‘Lumin ’, which is expected to be unveiled at PAPS 2024. Chinese carmaker has launched ‘Lumin’ on the international market in April 2022.

Details translating the features and specifications of its soon-to-arrive car have not been disclosed by Changan Pakistan.

Specifications and features

Initially, the Lumin was available with two LFP battery options: 12.92 kWh and 17.65 kWh. These provide a range of 155 km and 210 km, respectively. A 27.99 kWh battery was later introduced, offering a range of 301 km.

Powered by a single electric motor (front-wheel drive), the Lumin generates 30 kW (41 bhp).

Although these power figures may seem modest, they are well suited to a city car and offer an energetic and efficient drive.

Exterior design

Lumin Corn boasts a charming, rounded exterior design. The circular LED lights, exposed door handles and aerodynamic wheel trims add to its modern, elegant appeal. The EV’s dimensions (3270/1700/1545 mm) and wheelbase (1980 mm) make it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces.

Interior features

Step inside the Lumin Corn and you’ll discover a surprisingly spacious and well-appointed interior. The centre console features a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen with simple, intuitive graphics. It offers navigation, telephone, music, radio and autonomous driving functions.

The Lumin Corn’s centre console features a rotating gear lever and a button for selecting driving modes. There are only two modes available: Eco (E) and Sport (S).

The Lumin Corn’s seats are upholstered in fine fabrics and offer a comfortable ride. However, they can only be adjusted manually. For added safety, the Lumin Corn also includes ISOfix attachment points for child car seats.

With the second row of seats folded down, the Lumin Corn’s boot offers a load capacity of 104 litres, enough space for luggage or shopping.

The steering wheel is sporty and has a flat base, making it comfortable to hold. A small instrument panel behind the steering wheel displays essential information such as speed, battery charge, range and fuel consumption.
