(C)Sportstar,al nassr held to draw by al raed in saudi pro league opener
Al Nassr, one of Saudi Arabia’s big soccer teams, could not win their maiden game of the new season. They played on Thursday against Al-Raed and left it a draw. Al Nassr was looking to begin their Saudi Pro League campaign differently. A headed goal, assisted by Sadio Mané, was scored by teammate and famous Al Nassr player Cristiano Ronaldo. It was his 22nd goal in 2024, but his effort could not help Al-Nassr win the game.
Al-Raed Fights Back
Al-Raed, the team playing against Al-Nassr, never gave up. They got a chance to score when Al-Nassr’s player Aymeric Laporte made a mistake. The referee said it was a penalty. Mohamed Fouzair, captain of Al-Raed, scored from this penalty.
Star of the Game: Al-Raed Goalkeeper
The best player who performed his duty in the game was the goalkeeper of Al-Raed, Mshari Sanyoor. To save the maximum number of balls shot by the players of Al-Nassr, he made brilliant saves, notably one against Sadio Mané and one against Laporte. Due to this great performance by Sanyoor, Al-Raed drew the match.
Another ball was driven into the net by Ronaldo, and Al Nassr celebrated another goal. The referee ruled it offside, said no, and Al Nassr became more frustrated than ever.
Testing Times for Al-Nassr
This dull game comes immediately after the thrashing Al-Nassr took from another team named Al Hilal the previous week. Now, it is in everybody’s mind whether Al-Nassr will be able to perform well this season. They ended last season second in the league and look to do much better this time around.
Al-Nassr has undergone some changes lately. They got a new goalkeeper named Bento Matheus and a new player named Salem Al-Najdi. Their club president, however, resigned a few days ago.
Al-Nassr will have to really work on getting better results in their upcoming games. They want to prove all that they can still become one of the best teams in the Saudi Pro League.
