United States issued new figures of World Population and India became most populated country of the World as its population reached 1,425,775,850 while Chinese Population is still at 1.425 billion.
India surpassed China to become the most populous country in the World making a significant shift in global demographics. The population in China and India, both are slowing down but India’s population still became higher.

Overall the population of India has been declining, reaching its lowest level since 1960 at 0.61 percent in 2023. China’s population rate is also slowing down experiencing a decline after reaching 1.426 billion in 2022.

India having significantly smaller land area cover 3.287 million square kilometers, while China has massive land of 9.597 million square kilometers and population of India is higher than China now.
In terms of area, India ranked seventh globally while China is the largest country in Asia and third largest country in the World. The population of India surpassed China as considerable number of women entered their reproductive years in India.
India also contributes significantly to the global working-age populatoon growth accounting for 23% of the growth between 2020 and 2025.
There are various factors changing status of India’s most populous country in the world that are social, economic and environmental factors. Large youth population of India is also facing challenges in employment and education opportunities.
