Hajj policy 2023 approved

The Economic Coordination Committee ECC approved to provide foreign exchange US $90 million for Hajj policy 2023. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony presented the summary of Hajj policy in a meeting chaired by Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

The quota allocated for Hajj policy would be distributed to both government and private sector on 50:50 ratio according to the details issued by finance ministry in a meeting. The total quota allocated for Hajj policy 2023 is 179,210.

The 50% quota is allocated for sponsorship scheme, including Hajj package for northern region Rs 1175000 and Rs 1165000 for Southern Region. The ECC also approved other Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs 12 billion.

National Poverty Graduation Programme

Planning Commission for conduct is also directed to conduct 7th population and Housing Census and Poverty Alleviation and Safety to conduct National Poverty Graduation Programme with Rs 3244 million.

Ministry of National Security and Research on Urea Fertilizer also presented a summary for year 2023 which is deferred by ECC. The Economic Coordination Committee also deferred another summary submitted by Ministry of Industries and Production on Solar panel and Allied Equipment manufacturing.

The ECC meeting was attended by Federal Minister of Power, Khurram Dastgir, Federal Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Minister of State and Petroleum Musadik Malik, SAPM on Finance Tariq Bajwa and other senior officials of federal ministries.
