Prime Minister Imran Khan said, on Tuesday, that he formed a political party to challenge Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari and put an end to their corrupt practices.
Imran Khan on Tuesday said that societies are formed by the rule of law with overall moral values and ethics. He said justice is the criterion which “draws a line between a civilised society and a banana republic”.
Khan addressed a book launching ceremony of analyst and writer Ikram Sehgal titled ‘A personal chronicle of Pakistan’. He said that a society rises when governed by equal sets of laws for the privileged and the poor.

“The society is shaped by the rule of law,” he said, adding that the past ruling elite in Pakistan had plundered the country.
In an apparent reference to former rulers Sharif and Zardari, the Premier said that two corrupt families did a grave injustice with the country as they made corruption a norm in society.
Khan termed his struggle against corruption and injustices as ‘Jihad’ and said that he created awareness among the masses about ‘the biggest cancer’.
He said that Nawaz Sharif was fond of cricket, and he, by chance, became the prime minister of Pakistan.
Khan said Pakistan needs an actual struggle for ‘justice’, and that is the greatest jihad. He said in developed countries, the corrupt elements were ostracised, and society fought the evils independently. Khan said he entered politics to fight and wage struggle against social evils.
Referring to his cricket experience, Khan said there were two types of players in the game, the one who performed for himself and the other who fought for the whole team. The former always earned respect and esteem.
He said those leaders who thought of personal interests and individual gains were never respected by nations, whereas those working for the country always stood respected.
