When Is 12 Rabi ul Awal 2024 – Eid Milad-ul-Nabi 2024

Most Islamic countries, including Pakistan and Malaysia, honor this day with a public holiday which is usually marked on 12 Rabi ul Awal. This year as per the decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Rabi ul Awal falls on September 4. There may be a difference of a day of the 12 Rabi ul Awal 2024 as some countries may mark it on September 15 and some on September 16. This is because the Islamic calendar follows the moon and moon sightings differ from country to country.

Muslims revere the Islamic month of Rabi ul Awal because several events took place – the Prophet (PBUH) birth, migration of the beloved Prophet from Makkah to Madinah, and the death of the last Prophet of Islam, which took place on 12 Rabi ul Awal.

What is Eid Milad un Nabi

Eid Milad un Nabi 2024 honors Prophet (PBUH) birth. This day marks the birth of the holy prophet which occurred in Makkah in the year 570CE. The Prophet (PBUH) was a noble and respected merchant, a righteous man regarded for his honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity. He held his belief steadfast in the face of social and cultural challenges and calamities one after the other. The Prophet urged everyone to share their wealth with the poor and live on the path of righteousness. He laid the foundation of Islam and set example of friendship, loyalty, and humility. He is believed to have died at the age of 61 or 62 in Medina.
