The United States (US) has shared its thoughts on Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s upcoming visit to Pakistan, set for April 22. Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the U.S. State Department, expressed concerns about Iran’s recent actions towards Israel. Vedant Patel highlighted that launching numerous drones and missiles towards Israel doesn’t help the Palestinian cause.

Regarding the visit, Vedant Patel deferred to the Governments involved to Comment further. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb’s recent visit to the US was part of engagements with both governmental and non-governmental bodies. Discussions aimed at Encouraging Pakistan to focus on Economic reforms to tackle its own challenges.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar clarified that President Raisi’s visit was planned before tensions escalated between Iran and Israel. During the three-day trip, President Raisi is expected to meet with Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Chief of Army Staff. Talks revolved around Border security, the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline, Trade, Economic Cooperation and shared interests.

After Iran’s recent attack on Israel using drones and missiles, the Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan is happening. Iran launched the attack as a response to Israel’s strike in Syria. In that attack which killed important Iranian commanders. This creates tension between Iran and Israel.
