In a surprising turn of events at the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bangladesh have secured their spots in the final after defeating cricket powerhouses Pakistan and India, respectively.

In the first semi-final, Pakistan managed to limit the UAE team to a modest score of 193 runs in 47.5 overs. Aayan Afzal Khan played an important role by scoring 55 runs with seven boundaries. Opener Aryansh Sharma contributed 46 runs, and Ethan D’Souza added a handy 37. Despite Ubaid Shah’s impressive bowling performance of 4-44 in 9.5 overs, Pakistan fell short in their chase, being dismissed for 182 runs. Captain Saad Baig’s fifty and Azan Awais’ 41 runs were not enough, and the UAE emerged victorious.

In the second semi-final, Bangladesh overcame defending champions India with a four-wicket win. India set a target of 189 runs, with Murugan Abhishek and Musheer Khan scoring fifties. However, Bangladesh’s bowler Maruf Mridha shone with a 4-41 in 10 overs.

In the chase, Ariful Islam’s brilliant 94 off 90 balls, supported by Ahrar Amin’s 44, guided Bangladesh to victory in 42.5 overs. Despite Naman Tiwari taking three wickets for India, Bangladesh secured their place in the final.
The stage is set for an exciting final between hosts UAE and Bangladesh in the U19 Asia Cup 2023.
