During their ODI matches against India several players showed excellent performance while others faced inconsistent results. England performed well despite Jacob Bethell’s injuries and received important contributions from its batting and bowling players.
In his first ODI performance Jacob Bethell recorded 51 runs and secured one wicket until hamstrings ended his Champions Trophy participation. Jos Buttler led his team through the matches by scoring 97 runs in two games while also saving a match with 63 additional runs. Ben Stokes helped with both hitting the ball and taking out Indian batters as Reece Topley and Adil Rashid controlled their opponents’ hitting. These players demonstrated their potential as England fell short in the matches before major championship events.
