The delegations of monks reached Islamabad to participate in Three-day international Gandhara Symposium beginning today. The monks will visit museums and different tourist places to explore historical importance.
The symposium is being held under the auspices of PM’s Task force on Gandhara Tourism, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.

The title of event held by the Prime Minister’s task force is ‘Cultural Diplomacy: Reviving Gandhara Civilization and Buddhist Heritage in Pakistan’.
The inaugural session of the event will be address by Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Objective of Symposium
Pakistan is rich with a history of cultural significance related to Gandhara civilization and Buddhist heritage. The main objective of this Symposium is to raise global awareness about the historical and cultural importance of Pakistan in terms of Gandhara civilization and Buddhist Heritage history.
A lot of Buddhist monks from Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Nepal, and Veitnam came to attend the Symposium going to be held in Pakistan.

This will raise global awareness among people of different religions and countries about the enriched history of Pakistan and its tourism advancements.
