Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi, His remarkable returns of three for 26 and three for 32 in the second and third matches moved him up three places to top spot with 696 rating points. Shaheen dethroned South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj (who dropped two places to third) and regained the top spot for the first time since 31 October 2023.

His team-mate and all-rounder Haris Rauf took five for 29 in the second match to move up 14 places to a career-high13th with 618.

West Indies captain Shai Hope returned to the top 10 of the ICC ODI batting rankings after 18 months, following his side’s 2-1 win over England. He moved up two places to10th position, with 665 points.

Hope’s team-mates Keacy Carty (128 in 114 balls) and Brandon King (102 in 117 balls), who scored centuries in the third match, were rewarded with career-best positions of 52nd and 71st respectively on the batsmen’s list, while England’s Matthew Forde, with three for 35 in the decisive match of the series, moved into the top 100 on the bowlers’ list at 94th.

Najmul Hossain and Mahmudullah of Bangladesh made significant strides up the batsmen’s list despite losing 2-1 in the series against Afghanistan. Najmul jumped 11 places to 23rd with Pakistan’s Mohamad Rizwan on 604. Mahmudullah moved up 10 places to 44th (533 points) with Australia’s Mitchell Marsh, who dropped four places.

Mehedy Hasan Miraz moved up nine places on the bowlers list to 23rd with South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi (556 runs), while all-rounder Mohammad Nabi retained his number one spot on the all-rounder list thanks to his 135 runs and two wickets in the series.

In the ICC men’s T20I rankings, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga moved up four places to second on the bowlers’ list (696 points) after his superb 4 for 17 in the second T20 against New Zealand at Dambulla. Adil Rashid retains his number one spot with 725 points.

Hasaranga’s team-mates Matheesha Pathirana (who moved up 22 places to31st ) and Nuwan Thushara (who moved up 28 places to 48th ) achieved career best scores of 556 and 506 respectively.

New Zealander Mitchell Santner moved up four places to 13th (624 points), while his team-mate Lockie Ferguson, with his hat-trick at Dambulla, moved up 10 places to 15th.

England’s Jofra Archer is on the verge of making his first appearance in the world’s top 20 bowlers after moving up 10 places to21st (588 points), while his compatriot Liam Livingstone is still the best all-rounder, with a career-best score of 259 points.
