In a recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) match, Lahore Qalandars’ captain, Shaheen Afridi, achieved a significant milestone by becoming the third bowler to take 100 wickets in the history of the league. This impressive feat was accomplished during the 23rd PSL 9 match against Islamabad United at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Wahab Riaz holds the title of being the first bowler to achieve 100 wickets in PSL, leading the all-time wicket-takers list with an impressive tally of 113 wickets. Following closely is Hasan Ali in the second spot with 107 wickets. Shaheen Afridi reached the three-figure mark by dismissing Naseem Shah of Islamabad United in the recent match.



The Most Wickets Of PSL

The most wickets in PSL are currently held by Wahab Riaz (113), Hasan Ali (107), Shaheen Shah Afridi (100), Shadab Khan (87), and Faheem Ashraf (73).

Despite Shaheen Afridi’s remarkable achievement, defending champions Lahore Qalandars find themselves at the bottom of the points table. However, they secured a 17-run victory over Islamabad United in the mentioned game.

Lahore Qalandars successfully defended their target of 163 runs against Islamabad United. Shaheen Afridi played a crucial role in creating early troubles for Islamabad’s innings, claiming wickets in the first over. The opposition faced a challenging situation as key players like Alex Hales, Shadab Khan, Colin Munro, and Imad Wasim fell quickly.

Although Faheem Ashraf resisted Lahore’s bowling attack with an unbeaten 41 off 31 balls, Lahore Qalandars’ bowlers, particularly Zaman Khan and Shaheen Afridi, ensured control over the game.
In the first innings, Lahore Qalandars posted a competitive total of 163 runs, fueled by Rassie van der Dussen’s half-century and supported by an unbeaten 24-run cameo from David Wiese. Despite a challenging start, the defending champions managed to set a respectable total, ultimately securing a crucial win in the PSL encounter.
