pti loses ‘bat’ symbol ecp nullifies intra party elections verdict
In a Significant turn of events the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has Lost its Electoral Symbol the ‘Bat, as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared the Party’s intra-Party Elections null and Void. The Reserved Verdict was announced by a Five-member Bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
As a Consequence of the ECP’s Decision the recently Elected PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan who had Replaced Imran Khan will no Longer hold the Position. The detailed Verdict Revealed that the intra-Party Polls were deemed invalid, leading to the Forfeiture of the Party’s Electoral Symbol.
PTI founding member Akbar S Babar, in a video Statement labeled the intra-Party Polls as a mere Drama asserting that the Party had put both its Leadership and the ‘Bat’ Symbol at Stake. Prominent Figures including Akbar S. Babar, Raja Tahir Nawaz and Naureen Farooq, were among those who filed applications against the PTI intra-Party Polls.
The Election Commission had Summoned key PTI figures, including Gohar Ali Khan, Niazullah Niazi, Umar Ayub, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Yasmin Rashid, Ali Amin Gandapur and RO central Secretariat Sardar Masroof, in Connection with the intra-Party Polls Case.
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) had directed the ECP to Decide on the matter of PTI’s intra-Party Elections and the allocation of the Election symbol by December 22. The PTI had Urged the PHC to instruct the ECP to Publish the results of the intra-Party polls on the Commission’s Website a necessary step for Contesting the upcoming General Elections.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was Elected unopposed as the new Chairman during the intra-Party Polls replacing the incarcerated former Prime minister, Imran Khan. The Polls, Conducted on December 2 on the ECP’s orders saw voters exercising their right to Vote through an Online app.
