Positive Update: Government to Reissue BISP Cards

Benazir Income Support Programme is currently the biggest welfare program of Pakistan that started in 2008. Under this programme, 93 lakhs people belonging to poor and deserving families are benefitting from all over Pak.

Many people are provided with cash financial assistance on a quarterly basis through various programs running under BISP. Therefore, keeping in mind the distress of Pak citizens, BISP and the Govt of Pakistan have decided to reissue the cards to the public.

Purpose of BISP Card

The purpose of reissuing these cards by the government is to provide an easy means for the beneficiaries to whom the cards are to be issued to let them receive the assistance money. The cards can be used like ATM cards and help in easy withdrawal of cash when required and transparency. 

Benefits of BISP card

The Benazir Income Support Program will be easy for BISP holders to get the money from the scheme. They can draw the amount from any bank’s ATM in Pakistan after getting this card and not have to go to camp sites or payment centres for collection of the money.

The card helps prevent the circulation of black money as everything is being done through the banking system, thus making the money transfer process from the government to the card holders transparent. 

Another important benefit is the security that the banking system and ATM provides with no chance of theft of money as it has been registered in the online  system and the person who have the card details will only be able to collect the money.
