Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef announced surprise Petroleum Relief Package for low income citizens including the owners of 800 cc cars, motorcycles and rickshaws. The subsidy of Rs 50 per litre would be given under petroleum relief package.
The Punjab government chaired a meeting regarding relief package in Punjab and talked about the burden of inflation on local citizens. During the meeting Prime Minister announced Petroleum Relief Package for public with low income.

He said that, “Petroleum Relief will be given to low income consumers who have motocycles, rickshaws, and 800 cc cars. The programme would be initiated soon and a comprehensive strategy would be formed with the cooperation of relevant departments for effective implementation, he added.
Strategy for Petroleum Subsidies
Minister of State and Petroleum Musadik Malik briefed about the plan for providing easy subsidy of petroleum to low income segment of society. The recently announced petroleum prices will remain in effect till March 31.
Earlier, the Federal government increased the price of petrol by Rs 5 per litre which tensed the consumers and caused high inflation for upcoming month of Ramadan.

The Finance Division of Pakistan explained about the increase in price as depreciation of Pakistani rupee against US Dollar. The government is putting all the possible efforts to help poor people despite all the economic difficulties.
