Along with other economic crises, Pakistan is also facing petrol shortage in major cities of Punjab, long queues of people on motorbikes and cars can be seen outside the petrol pumps to buy the petrol for travel. The situation is worst in cities like Lahore, Gujranwala and Faisalabad where population is high so as the vehicles but petrol pumps have no or meager supply of petrol.
People are complaining about the shortage of petrol saying that it is difficult for them to even travel for office on motorbikes and petrol pump management is complaining that there is squeezed supply from oil marketing companies, they can’t do anything about the shortage.

Petroleum Dealing Association
Pakistan Petroleum Dealer Association secretary Khawaja Asif told media that In Lahore more than 70 out of 450 petrol pumps are fully dry with no petrol. All these petrol pumps are in major locations like Shahdra, Wagah, and Jain Mandar. In Gujranwala, 70%pumos have no petrol due to the short supply from companies. All the other cities like Sahiwal, Okara, and Faisalabad is also facing severe shortage of petrol.
On the other hand, Minister of State for Petroleum, Mussadiq Malik told media that there is no shortage of petrol and oil supply companies have stock of fuel and petroleum products for coming 25 days and more. He added that license of those petrol pumps are will be cancelled if they do not provide enough petrol to public.

Pakistan also signed the agreement with Russia, for oil import. Russia will start providing petroleum products to Pakistan from March on discounted rates. Till then Minister of Petroleum make it cleared that enough oil and petrol is present in the country. But severe shortage in Punjab is giving the signs of alarming situation in country.
