pakistan’s historic lunar mission to launch this friday
Pakistan is Set to achieve a Significant Milestone in Space Exploration with the Launch of its Historic Lunar Mission ICUBE-Q on Friday May 3. The Institute of Space Technology IST announced that the Satellite will be Launched from Hainan China aboard China’s Chang E6 lunar Probe. This Mission represents a Collaborative effort between Pakistan’s IST, China’s Shanghai University SJTU and Pakistan’s National Space agency SUPARCO.
The ICUBE Q Satellite Designed and Developed by IST is Equipped with two Optical Cameras to Capture images of the Lunar Surface. After Rigorous Testing and Qualification the Satellite has been Successfully integrated with the Chang e6 Mission. Chang e6 is the latest in a Series of China’s Lunar Exploration Missions and is Expected to Collect Samples from the far Side of the Moon to bring back to Earth for Research.
The launch of Chang e6 and the accompanying Pakistan Cubesat Satellite ICUBE Q will be Broadcast live on the IST Website and Social Media Platforms allowing Viewers to Witness this Historic Event in Real time.
CubeSats like ICUBE Q are miniature Satellites known for their Small Size and Standardized Design typically Measuring only a few Kilograms. Their Modular Components allow for Flexibility in various Missions Reach from Earth observation and Remote Sensing to Atmospheric Research and technology Development.
