Pakistan, UAE Deepen Economic Cooperation with Five Major Accords

During the first official visit of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to Pakistan, leaders sealed agreements that enhanced ties in banking, railways, mining, and infrastructure investment.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Crown Prince concluded their agreements at a meeting on Thursday. Senior government leaders and the Army Chief attended the event because their partnerships were vitally strategic.

The partners signed banking collaboration documents between Secretary Finance Imdadullah Bosal and IHC CEO & MD Syed Basar Shueb to deepen financial ties between their countries. The agreement provides new opportunities for mining partnerships that may drive resource development in Pakistan.

Pakistan Railways and Etihad Rail leaders Amir Ali Baloch and Shadi Malik signed two MOUs that might improve rail transportation systems across the area. The Prime Minister highlighted that the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Line project would directly help both Gwadar and Abu Dhabi ports work better and make this whole region stronger.

The UAE committed to expanding its Pakistani investments by signing an MoU with Secretary Board of Investment Nadeem Chaudhary and AD Ports CEO Captain Muhammad Juma Al Shamisi.

The one-on-one briefing with the Prime Minister showed his determination to enhance Pakistan’s enduring ties with the UAE and make their good political relations produce shared business benefits. He showed appreciation for the UAE because they gave support when Pakistan was facing a hard time.

The Crown Prince stood with UAE officials and businessmen to show their long-term support for Pakistan’s development. The Crown Prince traveled to Pakistan after Prime Minister Sharif held discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
