Pakistan inaugurated its First-ever two-day Global Health Security Summit Uniting Health Ministers international Health Leaders and Experts to address Global Health Challenges. The Summit Themed “Together for a Healthy Planet, aims to Foster international Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships to Enhance Global Health Security.
Distinguished Speakers, including Health Ministers and Global Health Security Experts, Gathered to Discuss Critical issues. The Participants Engaged in discussions to Shape the Islamabad Declaration a Comprehensive Document to be issued at the Summit’s Conclusion.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar Emphasized the need for Mechanisms Supporting Global funding to ensure no Nation is left Behind in the pursuit of health Security. He Called for investments in Transparent Multi-Sectoral Processes and Stressed the importance of a “One Health” approach Recognizing the interconnectedness of Human, Animal and environmental Health.
Prime Minister Kakar advocated for active Surveillance a tiered public health laboratory System and global frameworks for information sharing and collaborative strategies during emergencies. He Highlighted the Vulnerability of Developing Nations to Health Emergencies, Citing COVID-19 and Climate-induced incidents.
The Summit’s Broader areas of discussion include the impact of Global Health Security on National Health, Pandemic Preparedness, Climate change and Emerging Health Threats, Multi-Sectoral Coordination, Sustainable Financing and Social implications during Pandemics.
