According to plans, 5G technology will be a-go in Pakistan as far forward as April 2025. For their realization, they need to sell special airwaves called “spectrum” to mobile companies. The government wants help from experts so the sale goes very well.
Who Wants to Help?
Eleven big companies from around the world have said they want to help Pakistan with this important task. These companies are experts in things like technology, money, and planning. They sent letters to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) saying they’re interested in the job.
What Will These Experts Do?
The selected firm will undertake some major tasks:
1. Consult with all stakeholders who play a role in the initialization and supply of the 5G spectrum in Pakistan
2. Advise on any issues regarding developing methods for the auctions of the 5G spectrum sale
3. Oversee that the sale does benefit the economy and the people of Pakistan
4. Examine global practices and recommend an appropriate model for Pakistan
Why Is It Important?
5G in Pakistan is big news due to the associated benefits: it will raise the speed of the Internet and phone services, help businesses and schools make good use of new technologies, and probably bring even more money to Pakistan, together with jobs.

All the companies interested in assisting the PTA will be scrutinized before the best is picked to ask for a detailed proposal from the selected companies. After that, a chosen expert will help ensure that the spectrum sale is transparent and ends key points way that will benefit Pakistan.
When Will We Get 5G?
The government wants to finish selling the spectrum by April 2025. That does not mean 5G is going to be everywhere right away, but the first big step in the process of bringing this new technology into Pakistan.
