The Pakistan Business Council‘s Dubai team, led by Shabbir Merchant, met with Pakistan’s Ambassador Tirmizi at the embassy in Abu Dhabi on Friday. The meeting dedicated its efforts toward developing professional partnerships across business sectors between Pakistan and the country. Throughout two decades the UAE has invested more than $10 billion in Pakistan while employing over one million Pakistani working immigrants becoming Pakistan’s third-largest trading ally after China and the United States.

Delivering their 2025-2026 strategic outlook to the PBC delegation emphasized their dedication to building up economic relations between Pakistan and the UAE. The council requested ambassadorial support for their objective to build businesses across the UAE following their role in assisting Pakistani companies and professionals starting economic operations in this area. The delegates received assurance from Ambassador Tirmizi that the embassy would provide complete assistance to boost economic and trade relations between Pakistan and the UAE. The Consul General of Pakistan Hussain Muhammad recently convened a meeting with PBC officials in Dubai to examine business prospects in multiple Pakistani sectors such as IT and manufacturing with agriculture and tourism.

The World Economic Forum’s summit at Davos in January of the previous year brought Pakistani caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar to sign multibillion-dollar agreements worth $3 billion between her nation and Pakistan for railway development and economic zone establishment and infrastructure construction.
