Pakistan, Afghanistan & UAE To Compete In T20I Tri-Series
Pakistan is all prepared to host a T20I tri-series involving Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a lead-up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The tri-series will serve as an essential build-up opportunity for the competing teams.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed the date of the tri-series to be held in the UAE, with Pakistan and Afghanistan appearing as primary competitors, while the UAE will be the host nation. The PCB is yet to announce exact dates, locations, and times, though it is expected that all three teams play the series before the men’s T20 World Cup later on.
A warm-up stage ahead of the big clash
The T20I tri-series has been designed to prepare the teams for the global stage. For Pakistan, the tri-series will serve as a chance to try out combinations and find the essential balance before the World Cup challenge. Similarly, Afghanistan will be hoping to get some form with their explosive spinners to perform well, and potentially bring their power-hitting, there. The hosting UAE will have a great advantage of playing elite cricket from other nations in home conditions, and the matches will hopefully build their confidence as well as garner them valuable international experience.
