mobile and internet services suspended for punjab by elections for safety

The Punjab Home Department, which is like the safety department for the province, has asked the Ministry of Interior to stop mobile phones and the internet during the by-elections. They want to avoid any problems and keep everyone safe while people vote.

This means in certain areas, people won’t be able to use their mobile phones or access the internet. It’s a step to prevent any trouble and make sure the voting process goes smoothly. It will happen in places like Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Kasur. Also, areas like Talagang, Kallar Kahar, and Gujrat will have their mobile internet services stopped for the same reason. Other places affected include Alipur Chattha, Zafarwal, Bhakkar, Sadiqabad, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

The Home Department has sent copies of the letter asking for these services to be stopped to important people like the Punjab chief secretary, the inspector general of police, and the chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). They want everyone to work together to make sure this happens smoothly.

Besides, they also sent copies to the commissioner, the Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO), and other relevant officers to coordinate and carry out this plan effectively.
