Now, the ‘Raees’ actress has revealed that the viral photos made her think that her career was over and that she would never be able to work again.
In a recent interview, the ‘Raees’ star opened up about the emotional impact of the viral photos where she is seen smoking with Ranbir Kapoor. Mahira Khan recalled reading an article describing her rise to fame in Pakistan and speculating about her downfall after the photos went viral.
‘I remember reading that article and wondering if my career was over,’ said the Pakistani actress, adding that she couldn’t get out of bed, cried every day and struggled with the professional and personal consequences of this situation.
‘I couldn’t get out of bed, I cried every day, it affected my professional and personal life. A lot has happened in my personal life,’ said the “Raees” actress.
But Mahira Khan overcame the challenge without letting the criticism further affect her personal and professional life.
The Pakistani actress says she remained silent, knowing that speaking out at the time would serve no purpose.
It should be noted that Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan first met at a wedding.
