Madhubala the Elephant Finds New Home: Reunited with Family at Safari Park Karachi
ARY News reported, that Madhubala an African elephant, born in 2002, was successfully transferred from Karachi Zoo to Safari Park, where she was finally freed from many years of loneliness. The complicated procedure of transportation is carried out under the auspices of the International animal protection organization, Four Paws, with the help of a container transportation system and appropriate treatments to the container to provide the best accommodation for the elephant. It is such a merciful intercession it can guarantee that Madhubala will be reunited with her elephant friends after being kept isolated in captivity for 15 years.
Relocation and Reunion
The task of transporting Madhubala required a lot of rehearsals to ensure that she was well conditioned to fit into the transportation cage easily as well as to ease her out. Four Paws specialists wisely raised the container with a crane, showing that they avoided causing stress during the transfer. Upon arrival at Safari Park, Madhubala will be joining other elephants, Sonia and Malika, to form a family circle that was split apart for more than ten years. The park will now house three African elephants these animals are social and highly intelligent and hence require a more stimulating company.
Medical History and Welfare
Before shifting to Calcutta, she was a very sick woman She had a toothache and a broken tusks. In a similar event during an intervention that Four Paws conducted in 2022, an eight-member team diagnosed and treated her medical injuries. This transfer is coming from the animal welfare group, which has relocated Kaavan known as the ‘world’s loneliest elephant’ from Islamabad to Cambodia in 2020. It continues to recognize the well being of any animal that is confined for any reason with particular regard to their physiological and psychological well-being.
