Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Honors Local Heroes with Presidential Civil Awards
A lavish ceremony at Governor House Peshawar on Pakistan Day witnessed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi bestowing presidential civil awards on as many as seven award-winning residents of the province. There recognition was accorded for their exceptional contributions in various fields defining the spirit of service and the exemplary values that lay behind the national day celebrations of Pakistan at the event.
The award ceremony included the presentation of the medals Tamgha-i-Shujaat and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for a few deserving individuals on behalf of the President of Pakistan. Four recipients were awarded their medals as Tamgha-i-Shujaat,and three were given Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
Posthumous Honors to Bravery: Awardees of Tamgha-i-Shujaat
The Tamgha-i-Shujaat, a medal awarded for acts of bravery, was awarded posthumously to four heroics who laid down their lives for the motherland. These heroes include:
- Saeed Khan
- Sahib khan
- Malik Mehmood Jan (Martyr)
- Samiullah Khan (Martyr)
They are considered national icons of valor in the province and country for their brave deeds towards the nation.
Recognition of Excellence: Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Awardees
Remarkably, the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz relates to a high award that is given for exceptional services in different fields to three persons whose impact has been timeless in their respective domains:
- Arshad Aziz Malik for his outstanding contributions in journalism especially in the field of investigative reports.
- Dr. Akifullah Khan for his exceptional services in the medical field improving health standards.
- Bakhtiar Ahmed Khattak for promoting and preserving Pashto music and culture through a value-renowned Pashto singer.
Ceremony of Appreciation and Honor
This event in honor of awardees attended by prominent guests like Air Vice Marshal Taimur Iqbal and Shahid Sohail, Secretary of the Administration Department, and also their lovely families.
