Interior Minister Inaugurates Modern Passport Headquarters in Islamabad, Announces 24/7 Services

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has formally launched the new Passport and Immigration Headquarters along with the Islamabad Regional Passport Office which is an enhancement in the passport issuing facilities of Pakistan. The facility will function 24/7, leading a national campaign to transform passport services.

During the ceremony, Naqvi announced that 24/7 passport services would be launched in NADRA mega centres in 14 cities to tackle the earlier mess that led to delay in the passport up to 6 months. He also disclosed that the government had proposed to set up model passport centres in Karachi and Lahore to show that the federal government had put in efforts to expand the available services across the country.

The event was witnessed by major officials which includes NADRA Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Munir Afsar, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi. The upgrades were received approval from the DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi who said that the development correlates with the ministry’s vision to offer excellent public service. He also presented some shields and cash incentives to the hardworking employees during his round of introduction to some parts of the facility that had been upgraded.
