Imran Khan Tried To Meet CEC Secretly

Chief Election Commissioner

According to a source close to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Sikandar Sultan Raja has never met either PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz or Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

According to the source, Sikandar Sultan informed Imran Khan’s delegates that he was unable to arrange a covert meeting with him during his time as prime minister.

The source claimed that he had informed Imran Khan, the prime minister at the time, that despite being the CEC, he could not meet anyone, including the prime minister, in private because his office was open to all politicians and political parties.

According to the source, the current CEC is not the type of guy to give in to political pressure or become defensive in response to lies and false information that are being published about him.

Sikandar Sultan Has Never Met Hamza Or Maryam

Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI and a former prime minister, has frequently charged the CEC with meeting Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz in private in Lahore. Sikandar Sultan has never met Hamza or Maryam, the source insisted emphatically.

Sikandar Sultan reportedly travels to Lahore occasionally, but only because his family has made their home there. The source lamented that deliberate fake rumours was being circulated about the CEC to make him controversial and stated, “He goes to Lahore to spend time with his family.”

PTI’s Foreign Funding Case

The source claimed that after the commission reserved judgement in the PTI’s foreign funding case, the campaign against CEC Sikandar Sultan was sparked. Assuring that Sikandar Sultan was determined to fulfil his constitutional responsibility of organising free and fair elections without fear or favour, the source stated, “Let me promise you that the commission will not bow to such pressure tactics.”

The next by-elections in Punjab, according to Imran Khan, are being rigged in favour of the PMLN and against the PTI. The source revealed that even though Imran Khan now blames the CEC of meeting with the PMLN leadership in private, Imran Khan had been attempting to see Sikandar Sultan covertly during his time as prime minister. The insider claimed that the former prime minister was attempting to convince Sikandar Sultan to meet him through a number of channels, not just one.
