During the match, the ball hit Imam’s jaw after he had hit a shot during the run chase. He was given immediate attention by the medical staff and was briefly treated in the emergency room at Bay Oval, where he was later transferred to the hospital for a thorough
medical examination, as given in the team management statement.
Imam was ruled out for the rest of the match after failing the concussion test, and Usman Khan was named his concussion replacement by team management.
