As the general elections on February 8 draw near, the government is taking extra precautions to ensure the well-being of citizens. In a recent announcement, hospitals in Islamabad are now on high alert, ready to tackle any unexpected situations that may come during this crucial time.
The Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination has issued a notification, declaring a high alert status from the 7th to the 9th of February. This includes rural health centers, community health centers, and basic health units under the control of the District Health Office in Islamabad. This is how they can be prepared for any health-related emergencies during the elections.
In anticipation of potential emergencies, federal hospitals have made special arrangements. The leaves of doctors, nurses, and other staff have been canceled to ensure a full and robust workforce during this period. The notification also shows the importance of attendance, directing consultants, surgeons and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of federal hospitals to remain on-call for any kind of emergencies.
With the general elections just around the corner, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially concluded the deadline for political canvassing. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has emerged on top with the highest number of public gatherings across the country.
