GAC electric cars Pakistan

The Chinese auto giant unveiled a slew of EV models under its Aion and Hyptec sub-brands, with GAC electric cars Pakistan targeting urban commuters, family SUV buyers and premium EV fans all over Pakistan.

The launch highlights Pakistan’s fast-growing EV ecosystem, driven by expanding charging infrastructure, government incentives and growing consumer demand for fuel-efficient alternatives. GAC’s entry also adds to the competition in the young electric mobility segment of the country, offering Pakistani consumers more choices in the premium and mid-range EV market.

Hyptec, GAC Aion Models Arrive In Pakistan

GAC is entering Pakistan with two different EV divisions, Aion for mass-market urban mobility and Hyptec for high-end luxury EV buyers. The company unveiled four key models for different customer segments and price points.

The base Aion UT has been targeted as a compact urban hatchback and crossover for everyday city commuting. The model’s ex-factory price is around PKR 6,399,000, and the booking amount is PKR 1,000,000. It is targeted at younger buyers seeking affordable electric mobility, modern styling, and smart connectivity features.

The lineup has also been joined by the Aion ES sedan, a practical all-electric family sedan. You’ll still see official pricing vary by trim and battery spec, but the vehicle is all about efficient long-distance driving and spacious comfort for city households.

The Aion V is a mid-size electric crossover designed for SUV shoppers, with a more sizable battery pack and technology. The price of the model at the factory is around PKR 8,899,000, and the amount to book it is PKR 1,500,000.

At the premium end, GAC launched its Hyptec HT luxury SUV range. The Elite variant is priced at about PKR 11,999,000 and the flagship Ultra Gullwing variant is priced at about PKR 13,999,000 with a booking amount of PKR 2,500,000.

Premium Features On GAC EV Models

The new GAC EVs put a strong emphasis on modern technology, comfort and a premium cabin experience. The company is positioning its cars as a feature-loaded alternative in Pakistan’s growing EV space.

The Hyptec HT Ultra Gullwing is the top of the pack in terms of luxury. It has automatic gullwing rear doors, premium Nappa leather seats and a high-end 22-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system targeted at luxury SUV buyers.

The Aion V family SUV features a digital cockpit, panoramic display system, intelligent driving modes, and spacious cabin ergonomics for family use.

GAC Expands EV Charging Infrastructure In Pakistan

Still, one of the most important measures to promote the growth of electric vehicles in Pakistan is the development of charging infrastructure. GAC’s launch comes as broader efforts to develop the national EV infrastructure are underway.

The federal government plans a major expansion with over 1,000 Level 3 fast chargers to be installed along major highway and freeway networks. Charging stations are expected to be set up along major travel corridors roughly every 120 kilometres, including along the N-5 highway.

Local Assembly Plans May Boost Pakistan’s EV Sector

One of the important highlights of GAC’s entry in Pakistan is that the company will begin local assembly operations by December 2026. A local manufacturing industry would help reduce the country’s dependence on imports, the availability of spare parts and the future pricing of vehicles.

The move is in line with Pakistan’s broader industrial policy to encourage local automotive manufacturing and increase clean energy transportation options.

Factors Driving The Rapid Growth Of Pakistan’s EV Market

The increase in demand for electric vehicles in Pakistan is due to fuel prices, awareness about the environment and improved EV technology. Urban consumers are increasingly considering electric cars as a sensible long-term investment because of lower running costs and less need for maintenance.

EV Ownership Experience And Charging Ease

The charging convenience is still a big concern for first-time EV buyers in Pakistan. GAC vehicles are engineered to be compatible with both home charging and rapid public charging.

Most models will adopt the standard GB/T charging system, so they can be compatible with the future national charging network. Fast charging options can save you a lot of waiting time. Several models can charge from 30 to 80 per cent in about 30 minutes at Level 3 DC fast charging stations.

Future Outlook Of GAC Electric Vehicles In Pakistan

The launch of GAC electric cars is another giant leap towards the transition of Pakistan to modern electric mobility. The company is attacking different sectors of the Pakistani automotive industry with a mix of urban hatchbacks, family SUVs and luxury EVs.

With the expansion of charging infrastructure and the start of local assembly, owning an EV may become more feasible and cost-effective for more Pakistani consumers.
