UAE announces visa for five years for citizens of Pakistan.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed that Pakistani nationals can now apply for five-year visas.

The announcement was made by the UAE Ambassador, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, in a meeting with Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor House in Karachi. UAE Consul General Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi was also present in the meeting.

Governor Tessori welcomed the announcement and thanked the UAE for its investment in Sindh, particularly Karachi, and commended the growing friendship between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al Zaabi invited the governor to visit the newly opened UAE visa centre in Karachi. He praised the initiatives taken by the governor as a step toward development, adding that they are positive for cooperation as well.

The ambassador planted a tree to commemorate his visit and took part in a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Governor’s House. He also wrote a message in the guestbook, calling it a moment of lasting friendship between Pakistan and the UAE.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) told the National Assembly that there were no visa bans against Pakistani nationals. The five-year visa now issued in the UAE carries a condition that includes the following:

  • Proof of round-trip air ticket
  • Hotel bookings
  • Own property (if any)

Although the ministry also claimed that some applicants from Pakistan had faced additional checks due to misuse of documents. Fake degrees, overstaying cases, and misuses of social media are some reasons for these stringent rules.
