Best Places to Go in Northern Pakistan This Summer

When summer comes, the hot plains of Pakistan can get too much. That’s why many locals and tourists head to the beautiful northern areas. The mountains provide cool, fresh air and stunning natural scenery. Here are some top picks for great summer getaways up north:

Gilgit-Baltistan 

This region is packed with soaring mountain ranges, lush green valleys, sparkling rivers and lakes. Gilgit is the main city and a good base for exploring nearby areas. Don’t miss the Hunza Valley and seeing the ancient forts and apricot orchards. The village of Gulmit has amazing views of Ghulkin glacier.
