Babar Azam has signed with Sydney Sixers for BBL 2025
Babar Azam, current white-ball captain and star batter from Pakistan, is on his way to the Big Bash League playing for the Sydney Sixers in the 2025 season. Babar will be making his debut in the famous Australian T20 competition and fans cannot wait to see if he can bring his classy batting style to the BBL.
The news came after the draft launch of the BBL from Melbourne, as Sydney Sixers nabbed Babar with their second overseas pick in the draft, making it one of the marquee signings for this year’s draft. Renowned for his consistency and elegant stroke play, Babar has already left his mark on T20 leagues including the PSL and CPL, and is geared to do the same in Australia.
Sixers coach Greg Shipperd said he could not be happier to have such a top player join the squad. “Babar is a brilliant batter and just a wonderful person. He’ll give our team a massive lift,” he said.
