With the launch of the new iPhone 16 family just weeks away, the Apple supporters will soon have to decide which model they will upgrade to. The smartphones will be closer than ever but there are still differences between the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 pro.
The company would be releasing four models in the iPhone 16 series this year, both in the standard and professional lines. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus along with iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be released this September.
Reason that the Choice would be Difficult;
This time the choice would be difficult to choose one as the company has worked hard to create a difference between the Vanilla iPhone and the professional iPhone Pro models. Both the sets would get the latest Apple Silicon A18 chipset and have more RAM. The increased power and working space these offer is needed to run the generative AI software christened the Apple Intelligence.
Although the software would not be available at first in iPhone 16 series, it is said that a few basic features would be available through an iOS update in October with full AI upgrades coming at late Q1 2025.
The base model of the iPhone 16 will have a storage of 128 gb and go up to 256 or 512 gb while iPhone 16 Pro will start at 256 gb and extend up to 512 gb or 1 tb.
Price;
Apple has maintained the prices of its products in a range and it’s expected that this would be in the same range. If the product is very sought after, the base model may go up $100 upward while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be $200 upwards of the Pro model.
The iPhone 16 is expected to be priced at $799 and the Plus variant at $899. iPhone Pro will be starting at $1099 while the Pro Max will be at $1199.
Camera;
There is an obvious difference between the base model and Pro model, that is in the camera. The iPhone 16 will pick up a new camera to facilitate stereoscopic video recording while the Pro setup will get this with an added 3 lens setup compared to the basic’s 2 lens setup. The third lens in the Pro will offer a zoom of x5, the same tetra prism periscope lens that it had last year while the Max would get an upgraded version or not is yet to be seen.
Display, Battery and Charging;
While the display is expected to be the same 6.1 inch, one can expect it to get raised up to 6.3 inches maximum in the pro models.
The iPhone 15 series offers wired charging facilities at 27 Watts and wireless charging facilities at 15 Watt. There are reports that Apple may increase the numbers. If that is done, the wired charging can go up to 40 watts while the wireless will rise up to 20 watts.
