“Apologize or Face Legal Action” – PCB Warns Fan Over Rauf Clash

The situation was embarrassing but the PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi, came out strongly to warn that it should not happen again, following a similar incident involving Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf recently in the USA. Naqvi called the fan a ‘shameless’ person who smeared Islam’s image and asked the board to free her from the fan so that she could come to Pakistan and give a fitting reply to the man; otherwise, she would collect details about him and take legal action against him.

The Incident

An incident of the Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf was recently recorded in a video on social media where he had an aggressive encounter with a man in the USA. Rauf was walking with his wife, and all of a sudden the fan came and said that she wanted a picture with the renowned pair. But the fan reportedly uttered some statements which Rauf perceived to be provoking. The video showed Rauf trying to physically attack the fanaticism while resisting the efforts of his wife to prevent him from doing so.

PCB’s Demand for Apology

In his defense of the calm handling of the situation, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi reacted on social media, calling for the reprehensible use of force on Haris Rauf. Naqvi assured that such actions from the Australian crowd against the Pakistani players are uncultured and will not be allowed. In his childish rage, he insisted that the particular person owed Haris Rauf an apology which if not tender within a short period would lead to a legal battle against PCB.

Rauf’s Explanation

Iqbal Haris Rauf also explained his side and told the fan to shut up about his family as the fan himself was having insulting things to say about his family. Rauf agreed with this statement by admitting that people in the public domain can be criticized but disrespecting families is not acceptable no matter the professional one is in.

The Indian team had a disastrous Sri Lankan tour where they lost the T20 series 1-2 and the test series 1-3 It has raised question marks over the Pakistan team again after they were unable to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.
