The Sindh Educational Boards Training programme launched under the Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project (SSEIP) aims to strengthen the examination system in all seven Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) in Sindh. The project is intended to improve the quality of evaluation, introduce contemporary evaluation techniques and develop professional skills of education board staff.
The programme encourages a move away from memorisation-based assessments to examinations that test critical thinking. It trains professors, lecturers, subject specialists and administrative staff to develop reliable question papers, standardised syllabi and improved testing frameworks.
Goals Of The Sindh Education Training Initiative
One of the main objectives of the programme is to ensure uniformity in examination procedures of the educational boards of Sindh. The training sessions include syllabus development, Tables of Specification, Constructive Response Questions (CRQs) and modern assessment techniques.
The initiative also aims to encourage the use of technology in the management of examinations through Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and E-marking systems. These digital techniques help to reduce errors, increase transparency and make processing of results more efficient.
Advantages Of Digital Assessment And Capacity Building Of Staff
The training programme educates education professionals in practical skills for designing fair and effective assessments. Developing question papers more effectively ensures that students’ understanding, analytical skills and learning outcomes are measured in examinations.
Digital assessment tools such as OMR scanning and E-marking systems offer faster evaluation and minimise errors arising from inconsistencies in manual processes. Standardised procedures across various boards can also lead to a more balanced examination experience for students across Sindh.
Execution Via Expert Collaboration
The programme is being implemented with the cooperation of the SSEIP Project Implementation Unit, Teacher Training and Assessment Firms (TTAF), education experts and representatives from the examination boards of Sindh.
Workshops offer hands-on training in developing question papers, assessment reliability, validity standards and digital examination operations. Participants from various BISEs and the Sindh Textbook Board are involved in these capacity-building sessions.
Sindh’s Path To Modern Education Reforms
The Sindh Educational Boards Staff Training Programme is a significant move towards enhancing education governance and the dependability of examinations. The initiative aims to develop a fairer, faster and more transparent assessment system through the combination of professional development and digital technology.
The reforms are expected to improve examination practices across Sindh, with better academic opportunities for students and better efficiency within education institutions.
