HEC Degree Attestation Goes 100% Digital : 3 Common Mistakes to Avoid on the New Portal to Skip the Physical Queues

HEC degree attestation 2026

In a major step for Pakistan’s digital governance and education services sector, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) formally launched a fully digital, paperless HEC Degree Attestation 2026 (DAS).

The upgraded system is aimed at eliminating applicants’ need to physically present at HEC offices and the long queues for the degree attestation process. Now, students and graduates, and even professionals, can accomplish a large part of the attestation process online, with the help of the new blockchain-based platform, automated verification systems and courier handling of documents.

3 Common Mistakes to Avoid on the New Portal to Skip the Physical Queues

The authorities believe that the digital transition will enhance transparency, decrease processing delays and modernise educational verification services across Pakistan. The move is also seen as a positive step towards the country’s wider drive to push for technology-driven public services and paperless administration.

1 Incorrect NADRA-linked information remains one of the biggest mistakes

One of the most common problems faced by applications on the new HEC portal is wrong personal information as compared to the official NADRA records.

The system may automatically reject those applicants who enter names, CNIC details or father’s names that are even slightly different from the NADRA records. Since the portal is heavily dependent on digital validation and automated processing, inconsistencies can immediately break the flow of the application.

Authorities said that the applicants should verify all the details on their profiles before beginning the attestation process. The information you provide on the HEC portal must match the information on your official CNIC and NADRA records.

2 Incomplete academic uploads are causing major processing delays

Another common mistake observed on the new portal is uploading incomplete academic records or the wrong order of educational documents.

Candidates are required to upload their complete academic history from Matric certificates onwards as per HEC guidelines. Even if the attestation request is only for the final degree, such as a Master’s, the system usually requires proof of the entire educational chain.

Applications that bypass intermediate qualification, Bachelor’s records or supporting transcripts may be marked as “Deficient”, slowing down approval, needing verification.

Officials have asked applicants to scan and upload all educational documents clearly and in chronological order for smooth digital processing. This requirement supports the system’s ability to automatically verify academic progression without extensive manual review.

The paperless structure of the new attestation system aims at eliminating unnecessary office visits and smoothing the educational verification process all over Pakistan. Therefore, well-structured and complete uploads are considered essential to gain the advantage of the faster digital workflow.

3 Saved application errors and wrong appointment choices, creating confusion

Another common problem, reported by HEC officials, regarding the new portal is the mistakes in application management. Reports said many applicants had submitted a number of incomplete applications after failing to reopen previously saved forms.

The system automatically saves incomplete applications, and trying to start new submissions instead of picking up saved applications can temporarily lock accounts or interfere with the verification process.

Applicants have therefore been asked to check their application status carefully before making another request. Do not submit multiple applications. Reopen and complete saved applications.

Another common mistake is opting for unnecessary face-to-face appointments rather than using the platform’s suggested courier processing system. The new digital model will be designed to reduce physical visits through online authentication and courier handling.

Authorities have strongly advised users to opt for the “Courier Mode” wherever possible to make the most of the paperless attestation process and avoid the traditional queues at HEC centres.

Supplementary attestation option helping returning applicants

HEC has also launched “Supplementary Attestation” for the applicants who already have previously attested academic documents.

Applicants for attestation of new degrees have the supplementary option to simplify the process, rather than resubmitting previously verified records. The feature is believed by authorities to help cut down on repetitive document submissions and boost the overall efficiency of the system.

The revised structure reflects the growing inclination of Pakistan’s education authorities towards adopting digital transformation models to improve access and administrative performance. Blockchain-based verification systems will also likely enhance the authenticity of documents and the long-term security of academic records.

Digital transformation improving education services in Pakistan

The platform seeks to make the experience more efficient and accessible to students and professionals by reducing paperwork, minimising physical visits and incorporating automated verification systems.

Educationists believe that the initiative is a reflection of Pakistan’s greater emphasis on technology-based public services and modern administrative reforms. The shift towards a paperless verification system could also help in a faster process of international academic recognition and professional documentation for Pakistani graduates.

As more users become familiar with the digital platform, the new system is expected to play an increasingly important part in modernising educational services and improving administrative efficiency across the country.
