Balochistan School Break Extended – Know the Update

Balochistan School Break Extended

Latest Update

In an official announcement on March 9, the Balochistan government extended the province’s school closures – Balochistan School Break Extended until March 31, 2026 for all public and private educational institutions, including schools and colleges.

What the Official Notification Says

The reasons provided for the extended closures were not widely defined, but there appears to be a combination of regional instability and other factors, such as national concerns (including potential fuel shortages), that may contribute to the decision to extend the closure.

What Will Continue Despite Closure

Even with the extension of the school closure, important academic activities will still take place during this period, including:

  • Scheduled examinations;
  • Enrollment initiatives; and
  • Digital Census activity.

Because no examinations have been rescheduled due to the school closure, all students who are taking examinations should remain ready to take their examinations on schedule.

Impact on Students and Parents

The impact of this delay will be felt by thousands of students across all of Balochistan’s educational institutions. This break allows for:

(1) Students to access on-line classes (where schools have made arrangements) while physical classes are suspended

(2) Students will have time to prepare for their exams during this break

(3) Parents are encouraged to stay aware of any new information from the schools regarding changes.

Will Schools Reopen After March 31?

Currently, the Balochistan Provincial Government has announced that March 31, 2026 is the expected date for the reopening of all educational institutions in Balochistan (BPHP). Although March 31 has been confirmed as the reopening date, Balochistan’s Government continues to monitor the drug- and alcohol-related situations in universities and secondary schools in Balochistan; if conditions do not improve by the end of this period, additional extensions may be granted. At this point, no announcement has been made to extend the suspension of classes beyond March 31, 2026. Visit the Pakistan for more updates.
