Pakistan Remains Unbeaten at U19 Volleyball World Championship

Pakistan’s fairytale at the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U19 World Championship continued in Tashkent with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Turkiye on Saturday. The straight-sets victory (25-17, 25-19, 25-19) was Pakistan’s third consecutive victory in Pool A, thus remaining unbeaten in the tournament.

In their first-ever tournament, Pakistan upset world no. 7 Belgium 3-0 in their opening match before resounding past the hosts Uzbekistan 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-21).

In the match against Turkiye, outside hitter Saud was the top scorer for Pakistan with 16 points, and team captain Muhammad Yahya contributed another 13 points. The progression of Pakistan in their matches showed a total domination in every aspect, including attack points, blocks, digs, and service.

Pakistan now emerges as one of the top teams in Pool A, and they are gaining momentum. Pakistan will play either Argentina or Puerto Rico, and both matches will put the team’s unbeaten streak to the test. If the team can win 1 of those matches, it will almost guarantee a spot in the knockout rounds, a tremendous achievement given this is Pakistan’s first event at this level.

Pakistan’s unity, discipline, and buoyancy have volleyball fans around the world talking.
