MLS Weekend Action: Miami Hosts Crew in Key Eastern Showdown

Major League Soccer continues to provide intriguing fixtures with Inter Miami meeting the Columbus Crew at Chase Stadium on Sunday. Inter Miami comes into this game ranked sixth in the Eastern Conference with 26 points and having just recorded a fine 4-2 win over CF Montreal on Thursday. The club from Florida, featuring international megastar Lionel Messi, is still looking for some sort of consistent form throughout the campaign.

Columbus Crew come in as slight favorites, sitting fourth with 28 points after drawing 2-2 against Nashville SC in midweek action. The Ohio side boasts one of the best defensive records in the conference, making them a feared set of opponents despite recent woes in securing wins. 

St Louis City welcomes the San Jose Earthquakes to Energizer Park under interim management after the departure of Olof Mellberg. 

Meanwhile, New York City FC will travel to face Nashville SC at Geodis Park, where the home side have conceded once in seven of their last eight matches. Nashville is currently third in the Eastern Conference standings.  Both games take off at 12:30 AM on Sunday and make for enthralling on-field action for the soccer buffs.
