UAE-Pakistan Ties: A Vision for Collaboration in AI, Technology, and Economic Growth

The bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has further enhanced and the two countries set their focal point on the development of multiple sectors. UAE’s Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi said on the occasion of the 53rd UAE National Day that the opportunities for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and renewable energy, as well as technology, are vast. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the UAE for its decisive support towards the stabilization of the economy and established positive expectations for an increase in bilateral relations in trade, development, and visa liberalization.

The ambassador of the UAE stressed the partnership in high-tech fields including artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and technologies. He emphasized the issues of sustainability and diversification of the economy as the best ways through which everyone will benefit. Besides, he stressed the development of new jobs for the young generation, sharing the vision of positive changes for both parties and the enhancement of the relations between regions.

As per the statements of the UAE’s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Yousef Al-Zaabi, there is good potential to enhance the bilateral relations, which are based on mutual principles and mutual respect. He complimented the warm reception he received in Pakistan and saw long-term bilateral relations in agriculture, technology, and environmental conservation for the benefit of both nations.

Regarding, the IMF program, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the UAE for supporting Pakistan and terming it as a ‘lifeline for Pakistan’s economic stability’. He also explained the UAE’s investment in Pakistan with reference to the health sector, educational sector, infrastructure, etc.

Sharif showed keenness in future high-level visit interchanges, including the visit of the UAE President to Pakistan. He also appreciated the UAE’s steps towards liberalization of the visa regime which is expected to pave the way for easing travel restrictions for Pakistanis, which will enhance the bilateral people flow and boost cooperation on the economic and cultural fronts.

Highlighting the UAE’s remarkable development under the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Sharif lauded the nation’s journey of prosperity. He extended Pakistan’s unwavering support for the UAE’s territorial sovereignty and emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in addressing regional challenges.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari echoed these sentiments, inviting UAE investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s technology, agriculture, and tourism sectors. He celebrated the long-standing friendship, recognizing the UAE’s crucial support during challenging times.
