The performance of Pakistan at the 2024 T20Is has reached a worrying low, with the national team suffering 16 defeats in 27 matches.
This puts Pakistan in joint position with Rwanda, who also suffered 16 defeats but in 24 matches, for the most T20I defeats of the year.
The statistic highlights the continuing difficulties of Pakistan’s T20I team, which has been plagued by inconsistent performances and a lack of cohesion throughout the year.
Pakistan’s cricketing heritage notwithstanding, the team struggled to establish a winning combination, suffering defeats against both top teams and lower-ranked nations.
In addition to Pakistan and Rwanda, Bhutan and Indonesia have also had difficult years in the T20 format. Bhutan recorded 15 defeats in just 19 matches, while Indonesia, like Pakistan, played 27 matches but lost 15.
