Imran Khan Records Private Video Message from Jail, PTI Rally Enters Islamabad
A new turn in the political scenario in Pakistan has arrived as the founder of PTI Imran Khan was alleged to have recorded a private video message from Adiala Jail. The message, which was said to be sent to wife Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was allegedly made during a briefing to party leaders Barrister Saad Rahman Gohar and Barrister Muhammad Saif. One can just watch the video and try to decide as much as possible about the internal party politics and the clash of the titans in the leadership.
Both jail officials and Imran Khan clarified that the message on the video was personal and not to be shared with all PTI workers. During the meeting, the party leaders wanted Khan to allow them to begin negotiations with the government, which has offered another site for the intended protest with better amenities. But PTI central leader Sheikh Waqas Akram denied the reports that there was a such video message, which caused confusion regarding the claimed message.
The political theatre escalated when the PTI procession led by Ali Amin Gandapur entered Islamabad’s territorial boundary under the protest slogan of ‘do or die’. When convoys from Hazara division, DI Khan, and Balochistan joined Gandapur’s motorcade at the Hakla interchange it seemed that a significant political show-off was in the making. However, this protest call has been confirmed by Barrister Gohar although there have been discrepancies about the video message it holds, which indicates that there has been political pressure that has prevented it from changing.
