Chief Minister’s Information Adviser Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said on Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan would remain in the country even after being released from jail.

A statement issued by his office attacked those who had accused the PTI leadership of striking a deal that saw Bushra Bibi released from prison recently. ‘History bears witness to the fact that Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari left the country after making deals. Imran Khan, however, will live in Pakistan even after his release from prison’, said Barrister Saif, while replying to those who claimed that the wife of the PTI founder, Bushra Bibi, had been released on bail as part of a deal.

Saif, who is also the spokesman for the Kurdistan provincial government, stressed that Bushra Bibi had remained among the masses after her release. He expressed the hope that Imran Khan would also be released and remain among his people. ‘Deals are made by those who abandon their country and their people and leave the country to live in palatial homes abroad,’ said Barrister Saif.

Sharif accused the Sharif and Zardari families of acquiring vast mansions abroad after looting public money. ‘Imran Khan has neither looted public money nor palaces abroad,’ said the chief minister’s adviser.

Saif challenged the federal government to reveal the details of the party that the PTI was accused of making a deal. He claimed that the federal government was a fake and that by accusing the PTI of having struck a deal, it was in fact accrediting the impression that the leadership had not been genuinely elected.

‘The fake [federal government] tried every tactic against the PTI, but failed,’ said Barrister Saif. It should be mentioned here that Bushra Bibi was sentenced to a long prison term earlier this year. She was behind bars for almost nine months before being released on bail.
