PM Shehbaz Sharif Stated Pakistan’s Efforts to End Polio

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Bill Gates to discuss the country’s efforts to eradicate polio. The meeting happened on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum WEF. It was a very Special Meeting. Both leaders attended that special  meeting in a panel Discussion titled Redefining the Global Health Agenda.

Shehbaz Sharif talks about Polio

During their conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif talks about how Pakistan is working relentlessly to end polio. He talks about the importance of Continued efforts by all partners to make Pakistan Polio free. The Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also thanked Bill Gates for his support in elections and for sending a warm Congratulatory letter for his re-election.

Bill Gates Suggestion

Bill Gates recalled the successful polio vaccine program in Punjab, which Shehbaz Sharif led when he was the province’s Chief Minister. Bill Gates suggested that this successful model be replicated across Pakistan to make a strong national immunization program. Both leaders Nawaz Sharif and Bill Gates shared a common goal of ending polio. They want to save the future generations from this dangerous disease.

Shahbaz Sharif and Bill Gates Collaboration

Prime Minister Shehbaz confirmed that he would work closely with Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation. He shows Gratitude for their ongoing support in the Fight against Polio.  The two Leaders also Discussed other areas of Collaboration, such as Immunization, Nutrition and Financial inclusion.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the Gates Foundation has been a very important partner in Pakistan’s socio Economic Development. Shahbaz Sharif Talks about expanding the Partnership in the field of IT, STEM education and Disaster management. He invited Bill Gates to visit Pakistan again, recalling his previous visit in February 2022.

The meeting showed Pakistan’s dedication to wiping out polio and building stronger ties with the Gates Foundation in other areas of development.
