Pakistan made a big impression at the Gitex Global 2023 event in Dubai. Gitex Global is a Huge technology event where companies from all over the world come to show off their tech innovations.
This year, over 6,000 companies from 180 countries gathered in Dubai to showcase their technology. The Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, shows the event’s importance.
One of the event organizers, Trixie LohMirmand, praised Pakistan’s strong presence. She mentioned that Pakistan is committed to speeding up its digital transformation. Pakistani companies had their stalls in various halls, and this presence allowed them to connect with organizations, investors, and governments interested in working with them.
In the Pakistan Pavilion, there were about 27 companies, along with 10 independent ones and over 50 startups. Some even signed multi-million dollar deals during the event, which is a big achievement.
The Chairperson of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), Muhammad Zohaib Khan, mentioned that the federal Caretaker IT Minister, Dr. Umar Saif, played a vital role in conducting important meetings and speaking at forums.
Pakistan also set up a special lounge where its IT companies could meet and do business with others. This was a joint effort by different organizations to support Pakistan’s success at the event.
